Sunday 29th May 2016, MadLab, 2pm-4pm
Following on from our blogging event in January, we are taking a closer look at some of the more technical aspects of blogging. Our speakers will compare different platforms, show you how some features of the different blogging platforms work, and discuss the wide range of possible blog topics available to you.
After breaking for tea and cake we will have a workshop session, where you can have a go at writing your own blog post, create a Medium account, help create a review of the event for our website, try out some themes and design, find out about sourcing copyright-free images and content for your blog posts, and get more advice from our speakers.
The line-up will be as follows:
- Olivia Pennelle will talk about using Weeble for her blog/website Liv’s Recovery Kitchen, and reviewing the recent blogging conference “Blog On”
- Katie Steckles @stecks will talk us through the basics of WordPress, showing how we add content to our website.
- Karen Pudner @kpudner will take a look at the bewildering range of blogs and blog topics that exist and getting you to think about subjects you could blog on.
